Due to the recent changes our team has decided that Roland Perk will not be our captain for the coming 2/3 years. We put all possible effort to at least win the YC in Norway Tour with Perk. Perk was in Top Form, all his teammates had a high Team Spirit and Perk had no off-days but still his performance was disappointing.
We don't blame Perk for it but the new rules, but we have to respect these new rules. The idea now is to wait till Perk is about 24, due to his fantastic talents we believe that at the age of 24 he should be able to compete again with other captains in Division 3. Perk's still is a beast, unfortunately his peak years are probably shortened.
For now Tobias Jonker will be our captain and he already proofed himself by finishing 3rd in his first race as captain in Division 3. Filip van Dijk is a good back-up and also performed great as a teammate, so possible next year it will be van Dijk's turn.
Next to waiting till Perk matures, we will start training a young DH rider from our talent squad. And we will have to think about Perk's teammates since some riders will be fairly old once Perk can start captaining races.
Luckily we bought all equipment we wanted over the last 2 seasons and invested in staffing as well. We might have to think about our first trainers as well, in other words: There is plenty to do for us!
See you in the upcoming races!
